| Would you have any interest in trading for Eckstein and placing him at 2B?

| Maybe. But not before November. And only if Gotay is not up to the job. 7 years ago we traded a good young player with problems on D because we needed an experienced vet for the P-S. Let's not take a chance that Gotay could be the second coming of Mel Mora. Give him a full chance to win the job.

| That's just how I'd describe him. But in the last 4 seasons starting with '03, he's hit .317, .340, .283 and .274, with HR #s of 15, 27, 27 and 16. I wouldn't have minded having those for us.

| Super Moderator | And to think that if Jose "Crazy Leg" Valentin hadn't finally fallen apart, Willie would still be trotting him out there, regardless of Gotay's performance. That said, Gotay has earned his chance, and is making the most of it. He looked very sharp at 2B tonight, so the work he is doing with Sandy Sr., is starting to pay dividends.... and he is only 24. THAT said, I would still pick up Loretta and have him platoon. Gotay, from the little seen, RH is his much weaker side. Loretta can play all IF positions as well.
