| ...who goes? Ambres and Anderson H will be gone as soon as Easley and Alou return tomorrow night. Someone else would have to go to NO for a minimum of 10 days, or be DFAd/released. Is it worth it for 1 start? I'd take my chances that Sele can give us 5-6 IP with 2-3 R, which should be competitive vs the Bats. But if it's Pelfrey, who goes? My guess would be Alomar, but IMO it's not worth losing him just because of 1 start.

![]() As for who goes....Alomar makes the most sense. I mean what would we do without Castro's 0-5 PHing...plus lord knows both he and Lo Duca are injury prone wusses who can't possibly be used in ordinary PHing situations without a 400 year old 3rd stringer who's slowly being covered in mold waiting on the bench. | |

But Ledee is not on the 40, which could create another problem. Is all this roster-tweaking really worth it for one start, when Sele could probably do just as well? And why did you mention the other guy's name? ![]()

| I have to agree with you. Sele looked ok in LA bailing out Glavine this week and I would think they would give him the shot. The only thing I can think is that with seven games in six days Willie and Omar are planning to need Sele out of the pen at some point and thus want to bring someone else up. I think as many have said they send down Alomar.

| Senior Member | Maybe I'm missing something here, but today is a day off, so why is another starter needed? Next Monday is another day off as well, so it's not like it would even be a problem the rest of the week. ESPN even has this figured out on their schedule, and they're idiots... Edit: In fact the Mets don't play a Monday game until August 27. Rosters should expand by the time a need for a sixth starter arises again, if it does... |
