Damion Easley's father passed away.

The Mets can’t put him on the disabled list because he’s not injured. They are seeing if there’s a way he can play in a minor league game or two before rejoining the team. Most likely they will play short-handed until he returns.

My condolences as well. I was just thinking this morning that I couldn't remember what happened to Easley and why he hadn't been playing. Some things, actually many things, are much more important than baseball.
