Default Favored son to return??

First part IS FUNNY..

METS BUZZ

The Orioles called the Mets to see if they'd be interested in trading for Steve Trachsel. Once the Mets got finished laughing, they told the Orioles that there was a player on their roster in whom they would be interested. The Mets and Orioles have had discussions about a trade that would bring former Met Jay Payton back to Flushing.

Concerned that Endy Chavez might not be back in time to help them in August, and concerned in general about the health and defensive abilities of corner outfielders Moises Alou and Shawn Green, the Mets are intrigued by the idea of adding Payton as a fourth outfielder and a late-inning defensive replacement. Payton is making $4.5 million this year and is signed for 2008 at $5 million. With Green and Alou bound for free agency, the Mets could be looking at him as a corner outfielder next year as well.

Not interested. Jay Payton makes Green look like a gold glover out there.

When Alou and Milledge were both DL'd, and Gomez was still at AAA, we needed a RH bat with pop for the OF, and Payton might've been a good temporary fix.

But with Milledge there now and Alou due back in a few days, there's no use for Payton at all.

Pass.

Milledge is blowing a great opportunity here. If he'd hit, he'd be a lock to stay on the roster, but if he continues the below .200 dance, he is going to go back to NO, IMO.

They also need to see if Alou can stay healthy for more than 5 hours before deciding to make any move for an OF.

How?

BTW--I'm still waiting for your list of all the ex-Mets that I allegedly campaigned to bring back. Did you overlook it while you were busy diagnosing Sosa's "leg problem"?

Ummm, that's Paulie.

As for Sosa, go back to the SD start. I merely repeated what RON DARLING was talking about (where Sosa seemed to be laboring). Stop making an ass out of yourself.

But hey, you are right, I am no doctor.

I guess anyone can come back from a broken leg AND a torn ACL within 6 weeks.

-Can't hit over .200
-Makes flyballs adventurous
-Never met a cutoff man that he wanted to associate with
-Allergic to curveballs
-Can't run the basepaths with a ****ing road map

Maybe THAT's "how" Milledge is "blowing his chance"?

You really have become an ass, bill. Did you happen to read his next post in that thread? You know, the one where he mentions Ron Darling discussing it? Or did you casually forget that? Take your meds bill, you're seeing things that aren't there again.

Steve, do you ever sit at your computer, look up at the ceiling, stare back at your computer screen, maybe look in a mirror, and then go back to the computer screen and think, "Wow, I'm f*cking worthless"? - DDP

What you said.

Granted, I think I am bit higher on the guy than you are, but this is a golden op for him, but so far...
