Default I changed my mind

I want Omar to get a middle reliever if said reliver is Eric Gagne. Only 16 hits allowed in 30 innings, 1 HR, 1.23 ERA. Aside from the KKKKKs being down a bit he seems to be as good as ever. Talk about shortening the game. Hopefully he has some latino roots

GET THE PIECE OF CRAP McGimpy OFF MY TEAM NOW!!!!!

The McGimpy does most things upside down: eats, sleeps (an average of 23 hours per day), mates, and gives birth. Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

I'd like him, too. But there are probably teams that see him as a closer, and would bid for him accordingly, which makes a deal unlikely.

As I said the other day, I'd go for Dotel as an 8th-inning guy, and offer Heilman (who could possibly get his wish and be a SP for KC).

Gagne is an elite relief pitcher a difference maker and that is the only reason I want him. Really not interested in Dotel or any of the other usual suspects right now.

What would you offer for him that realistically might get the job done?

No idea what it would take to realistically get him but I'd offer Delgado and prospects and get Texeira too in a blockbuster. If they dont bite throw the names Mulvey and Gotay out there. I wonder if there might be some interest in Castro or if Omar would trade him. Really have no idea what the Rangers would want and what other teams might be offering but I'd love to get him.

I'd love to get him, too. But IMO it'd take a lot more than that package. And with his injury history, the risk isn't worth it. If we needed him as a closer, or our pen was Bronx-like, we'd have to go for him full-force.

he is worth the risk and that injury history is what might keep the price reasonable. Would you trade Joe Smith?

Can't remember where I heard this but supposedly Eric only wants to close and not be a set-up guy.

You could probably get Dotel for a LOT less than Heilman.

Nuthin' but love for ALL Mets...

HELL FREEZES OVER....Metssc agrees with me. I've been advocating trying to get Texeria for months...young power bat at first AND keeps him from the Braves (who are rumored to be interested)

My only beef with getting Teixeira is that its pretty much said he is going to Baltimore when he is a FA...

It's amazing how winning and money change things. If the Mets can get Gagne, he'll want to come because he'll have a chance at a ring. If the Mets can get Teixeira, he'll want to re-up because the Mets will pay him.

As for a package for those two? Ugh . . .

Pelfrey, Heilman, Delgado (with $$$), Milledge, another pitcher? Is that enough? Maybe toss a mediocre 2B in there too? Anderson Hernandez?
