Remember earleir in the year when we were all aglow with the Mets success and the Yankees problems? Uh, oh! Now the Yanks are closing in on the Sox and we're clinging for dsear life to first... If they make PS and we don't, it can only be bad karma for enjoying their misery so... BTW, I was a both CA wins this week, though last night was actually pretty hard to watch. Most people in LA leave in the 7th....It was tempting to leave during th 3rd....

Closing in? They're 7 back. As for the "bad karma", the Mets have looked like they have a pulse over the past few days. Betting on the Mets to make the playoffs and the Yankees to miss the playoffs is still an extremely safe bet.

No karma. just a red sox team that over-achieved and a Met team that is weaker than last year. Add useless teams for an entire month for the yankees and this is what you get. It can all change in August when the Yankees face real teams AND we face lower level competition. And the return of Pedro, of course. ![]()

Stop looking at the uniforms and look at the players wearing them. A collection of heartless "stars," gimpy has-beens, and over-hyped never-wases, with a pitching staff consisting of a guy who looks more at home in a laundry along with the cast of Cocoon.

Ditto with the "Team To Beat" Phillies who are very much in 3rd and have been straddling .500 all year. | |
