Default Trax Watch - July Edition

Where was Rey-Bill with this info?

Trax: "I'm not hurt, and they know that."

Baltimore starter Steve Trachsel didn't bother to hide his emotions on Saturday, when he was approached to discuss an injury that landed him on the disabled list. Trachsel, who has been slowed by a strained gluteus, seemed irked that he was placed on the DL without being consulted.
"It's amazing, isn't it? I haven't seen a doctor yet," he said. "It's a little bit of a surprise."

Trachsel has endured a difficult month and has pitched less than five innings in four of his last six starts. The right-hander's ERA has risen by more than a run-and-a-half -- from 3.39 to 4.95 -- in June, and Friday night was the worst of the bunch. Trachsel got just five outs against the Los Angeles Angels, who reached him for nine hits and five earned runs.

In the start before that, Trachsel worked four innings and allowed five earned runs. He said that he injured himself in that game while trying to get out of teammate Kevin Millar's path and that he's felt it ever since.

"That's all I've really got at the moment, because like I said, I haven't even seen a doctor yet," he said.

"I know Steve has been in some discomfort with that," added interim manager Dave Trembley. "He felt like it affected the way he threw last night and his preparation in between starts. He's a very regimented, routine-oriented type guy.

"He gets one more start before the break, and I think everyone's feeling was to back away from that [and] let him get a chance to get some treatment. He'll get the break at the All-Star situation and then kind of go from there."
God, I could only dream of the PHils still trading for him.

I am sure this is a Met generated conspiracy, right? I mean, they know what they know, you know what they know, I know what I know, do you know? You don't need me to tell you. I will tell you when everything settles. They know who they are, you know who they are, but I am not saying who that is yet. We will all know someday.

Honestly, this schmuck has lost his mind.

LOL

I seriously hope this guy follows his passion and goes into winemaking once his playing days are over.

"The frost lifted, and the grapes know that. Yet they didn't produce a good shiraz. Amazing, isn't it?"

I guess his mediocrity was overlooked when it came to selecting the AL all-star pitchers.

lol.

I hope your right about the wine-making, because color commentating would be a horrendous career move (a la Tom Seaver)

Trax: "I tell you Gary, this John Maine kid has good stuff, but not enough repertoire "

Gary: "Well Steve, he can be over powering with that high fast ball and now has improved that slider as an out pitch...he's not exactly a one trick pony."

Trax: "Theres a runner on first, I wish John Maine would slow down the pace of this game, because right now, with the quick pace he's maintaining out there, I myself dont have enough time to process the situation and figure out what I am going to say next."

Gary: "Funny you should mention it Steve, The Mets organization and their fans know that."

Trax: "John Maine, I don't feel, is a bottom line kind of pitcher"

Gary: "You know who you remind me of? Steve Trachsel."

Trax: "All that guy did was win"

Gary: " So much like Jack Morris"

Trax: "The only difference between Jack Morris and me are world series rings. And I know that."
