Default How about this guy?

He can't really play the field much any more, but as a LH bat off the bench and a platoon guy until Endy gets back, he could help. He's in the middle of a 1-year, $6 mil contract.

Is he really much younger than Flintstone?

Lofton was an automatic out in the playoffs last year. Maine had him looking like vintage Kaz Matsui...

True. But I'm looking at him as filler till Endy gets back, then just as PH or PR. Maine had Ryan Howard looking pretty weak tonight, too.

Ledee.

But "drivel"? He's a career .300 hitter with a current .289 BA and enough speed to have already stolen 16 bases so far this year.

IF he's doing well here, we can send Gotay or Gomez down when Endy returns. If not, I'm sure someone else would take him off our hands just based on his Texas #s. Even if we have to cut him in a month, the cost in salary (plus marginal prospects in trade) would be worth the potential benefits IMO.

So "when" does Endy return? I mean, hamstring injuries are fickle, you know.

But hey, I like your idea of actually cutting/sending down players who are actually performing well for the team. Bill for next Mets GM. Book it...

Yes, hammies ARE fickle. Which is why I want someone better than Ledee out there for what could be a month or more from now. And with Alou possibly out for more than that, IF Gomez had to be sent down it would only be for 2 weeks, since he'd be back Sept 1.

But you'd rather have Ledee, so you can ***** about our awful bench. I guess we'll miss hearing your complaints every time Ledee strikes out.

No thanks to Lofton Gomez has played pretty well, and if Alou returns this century they can still use Gomez as the 4th outfielder till Chavez comes back.

This has nothing to do with Gomez. I'm talking about a better LH bat than Ledee until Endy returns. And if Gomez then goes down to make room for Endy it'll only be for a few weeks until Sept 1.

It will probably be a month before Endy's here. And I'd rather have Lofton at the plate in late innings than Ledee.

Like I said in another thread they need pop off the bench not speed. Lofton is having a nice year, and the Rangers would ask for something good for him, and imo he's not worth it. Ledee btw hasn't looked all that bad at the plate it's Flinstone who I've got a problem with.

Ledee has some pop, but Lofton can get on base ahead of Reyes and not clog the bases.
