| The Mets are going nowhere in the postseason with DelKingman at first base. He's been given nearly half a season to get his act together and other than an occassional decent game, has shown nothing. He consistenly kills rallies and gives the opposing team almost a guaranteed 4 outs per game. He doesn't even make "productive" outs by moving runners over or with sac flies. How far can they keep moving him down in the lineup? Why don't they at least get someone in here to platoon with him against righties, against which he is batting .194? For June, he's batting .207, .229 OBP, with 10 lousy RBIs - absolutely unacceptable for a guy in the 4-5 hole making this kind of money. He's had 1 HR in the last 3 weeks. If he's really injured, DL him and get someone else in here to replace him for a while. There's got to be a player out there that can do better than this clown. I'm tired of hearing about how he has to play because he makes so much money.

| I don't know why willie doesn't try delgado in the sixth hole again, not as any kind of punitive thing, but to get him to relax a little bit. it seemed to work in florida, then it was instantly "problem solved!" and delgado was moved up and almost immediately began struggling again. I have no problem with green behind wright, and if you can get anything out of delgado, he's a pretty nice sixth hitter. hopefully you build his confidence back up to the point where you could justifiably move him up again. |

| Maybe, as long as they're winning, give him some games after the all-star break. For whatever reason, the break can change the fortunes of players and teams. If he still isn't hitting, Minaya must presume this is how "Delkingman's" season will play out. At that point, DL him if he's injured; but something MUST be done. Not sure what, tho. ![]()

When does deciding on a player's injury stop becoming solely the decision of the player?
