| I'm broken recording again, but one of the ESPN radio guys was speculating on the Marlins putting him out there for offers. Is THIS a "big bat" that you'd go all-in for and eschew trading for a pitcher, instead waiting for the offseason?

| any chips the Mets have got should be used to get a number 1 type pitcher who can punch people out, Omar needs to live and die with the offense he brought in, not add to it, besides I suspect if the Marlins have a brain Cabrera would cost the Mets Wright who is reasonably controlled for the next 5 years, whereas as a free agent Cabrera will likely be paid more than Sorryass |

| If there's any possibility at all to get Cabrera you go and get him, stick him or Wright at 1st and get whatever you can for Delfinished. Replacing a .220 .000 WRISP 2 outs anti-American arsehole with one of the top 5 offensive players in baseball will cure whatever ills the offense has.

| If Cabrera is available you go get him at all cost!!!. As much as people say we need picthing, we are not losing because of our starting pitching (the bullpen yes). We really score no runs for our starters. That was a quality start by Perez and he should have gotten a win. Right now, 3/5 of our staff is still young and they would probably pitch better with a lead (As opposed to pitching in close games). Delgado is actually killing us. He showed up to Spring training weighing 266 lbs and out of shape. Now he is paying the consequences by having a horrible season. You owe it to your teammates to stay in shape. He seems more interested in his Red Snapper recipes. BTW, don't tell me that Minaya is not interested in Cabrera. Remember that the Marlins were thinking of lodging a "tampering" complaint vs. Minaya (and the Mets Org) given the fact that Minaya was "talking it up" with Cabrera during the Marlins pre-game warmup. Apparently, this is a no-no. |

| If Cabrera is out there (and I really, really don't think he is you gotta go balls out to get him. Unless Oswalt becomes available again, or some other ace we haven't heard about yet, there isn't a player that would make as big an impact as him. |

If this is an option, I wouldn't be opposed to picking up a lot of Delgado's contract and trading him for 1 or 2 RPs to solidify the bullpen.

BTW, this reminds me if we were to get Cabrera we would have to keep him away from that newly released Mets cookbook. He can hit but man did he gain some weight. If he keeps this up, he'll have knee problems soon.
