Default Momentum is only as good as the next day's shoenweis outing

Seriously. Enough.

How about avoiding an 11th inning for the second night in a row with a few runs off of their scrub Pitchers? Schoeneweis only comes in when others don't do their job...

I don't buy that. Wagner only threw 9 pitches and was DOMINANT in the 10th, Smith was still available, and yet Willie went to Schoeneweis anyway...

And we are stuck with him for another two seasons!

It's Smith he should have went to. I don't blame him for pulling Wagner. The guy is his closer and has now pitched three innings in two days.

If he uses him, he's burnt for tomorrow. Going to Schoeneweis though, over Smith was just plain dumb.

I'm a big, big, big fan of Randolph. He's not the greatest strategy-wise, but I overlook it cuz of the other positives he brings...but he has got to stop bringing in that idiot in close games.

If they don't/won't eat his salary, they need to bring someone else up, drop Sele and stick him in the long relief role because he has now cost the Mets at least 4 games off the top of my head, all by himself.

How do you not buy it? If we score off of that joke of a staff there's no 10th inning, let alone an 11th...

Tonight was the first time Smith pitched in consecutive games since the end of April. Obviously Willie and Peterson don't like doing it, but 22 innings makes it hard not to...

“There’s not much worse that can happen. What else can happen?’’ – Scott Schoeneweis on his pitching problems

I can think of multiple ways this POS can find to lose games if he remains in the pen.

It could be worse. I'm watching King Felix and wondering how he's got a 4.50 plus ERA? Must drive M's fans crazy...

Even if Show-me-to-the-door could have shut down the Cards, what are the chances the noffense gets it done?

Because there was an 11th inning and Schoeneweis was called on to keep the game tied. Whatever happened before contributed to the loss as well, including the offense's inability to push some more runs across. But the bottom line is this: Schoeneweis' number was called and he responded by dousing a fire with gasoline. Again.

It's amazing how he's still pitching to righties. And he's a guaranteed god damn run (mostly home runs). He's beyond useless. Just find a way to replace him. eat the salary. Omar really took a chapter from the Steve Phillips manual on this one.
