Default How About Contreras?

Quote:
According to an official with one of the teams involved, the Mets also have asked the White Sox about former Yankees right-hander Jose Contreras, who is signed through 2009. The official, who asked not to be identified because the deals he was talking about are not done, said the Mets would be more likely to give up top minor-league talent for Contreras than they would for Mark Buehrle. Perhaps fueling the Mets' interest in acquiring a starting pitcher is the news that the Braves have been making a strong push for Buehrle.
How about NO.

So a double-secret source from one of the teams, cant say which one, talking in tounges about a trade that never has happened and cant be verified speaks about the Mets wanting to give up MORE talent for the WORSE player.

Yeah.....thats believable.

#1) He failed in NY
#2) He looks to be 36-40 years old
#3) He's not having an impressive season
#4) 2 years left on his inflated contract

The guy I'd be after is Garland. He'd be a nice #2 type pitcher. I don't know why so many dislike him.

I believe the term/terms to describe Contreras around here heading into the 2006 season were, "Roger Clemens like horse"
