Default take it for what it's worth... (griffey)

Griffey to Atlanta?
WFAN in New York is reporting Griffey has been sent to to Braves or is about to be sent to the Braves. He has agreed to waive his no-trade clause to go to Atlanta and has already signed off on paperwork to do so. Details to follow as they become available, but it may be part of a huge fire sale in Cincinnati as there are also rumors out that Adam Dunn could be sent to the Dodgers.

i saw it on philaphans so grain of salt it is

I would guess rumor since none of the other big media outlets have picked up on it.

rumor... though I wouldn't be shocked to see both moves happen.

The Reds are in disarray right now. Their season is over.

Why aren't the Mets interested in either outfielder? Sure, neither one of them is good for one infield hit a week like Gomez, but still...

I wouldn't put it past Omar to try and shake things up.

That said, I'd be shocked if either one became a Met.

Never mind that Indiana-born Notre Dame aluminus Heilman would be a perfect fit in Cincinnatti...

true, but the braves have a way of hyping their garbage and pawning it off on dumb GMs (I bet bavasi in seattle thought he got a freaking steal when he traded for horacio ramirez). who wouldn't be surprised to see the reds get saltamawhatever in return, only to find out he's astonishingly overrated?

We have enough old overpaid fragile guys. I dont want to compete with the Old, Overweight, Overpaid white teams pre Omar.

If it wasn't for his salary, I think Dunn would be a decent fit. Might even be able to do a deal centered around Heilman like your recent posts mentioned.

I'd actually look to bat him 2nd because he usually has decent OB%, would provide plenty of protection vs. walking Reyes, and would see more FB's.

he k's too much to be a 2nd hitter. perfect for a six spot, IMO. drive in runs his the bomb when he needs to

I wouldn't be too worried about the K's if he has a ~.370 OB%. Plus, more FB's could translate into less K's.
