F*ck Alou. I would just as quickly not count him at all for a very long time. What a crap signing this has quickly become... If I am Omar, I am scouring MLB to see if there are any solid LFs available...

And to think 15-Day only picked that name at first because he was Floyd's replacement. Now it's making a lot more sense than his original did.

My prediction of three months is looking more and more like it will come true.

Oh Neil assign more credit than that...and be fair to Alou, his predecessor was every bit as absent. I am not happy about Alous injury abscence but he has to play in less than 100 games before Floyd is his superior...which is fast approaching.

Boy Milledge is missing a golden opportunity.

yeah, I feel for the kid... despite all of the nonsense that surrounds him, you get the feeling that if he were healthy and got this chance, he would take full advantage.

From Metblog

Ted Berg on SNY.tv reports that Lastings Milledge should begin running by tomorrow, and will soon resume baseball activity.

Berg adds that he believes Milledge, in Alou's absence, is the Mets best option for left field at this time.

The McGimpy does most things upside down: eats, sleeps (an average of 23 hours per day), mates, and gives birth. Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

I like you NPG, but it is a bit much for you to call one of your doom bombs a "prediction"

So what is "at this time" mean, 2-3 months? I only ask because when it comes to player injuries, I've never seen an organization handle this more poorly than the Mets.

IMO, Alou is done. Try and ride the Gomez wave, hope that Beltran starts producing again, and let Milledge get 2-3 weeks of solid AAA game action.

And in the meantime the Mets will get creamed by the Dodgers and Skanks.
