Default hey mojo!

What were the terms of our Tom Glavine bet again?

(my apologies to the outstanding poster known as "DDP")

Well, I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure it was:

I win 100 dollars if Tom Glavine gets to 12 wins with an ERA under 4.2. (Was it 4.5? This is where I'm hazy.)

You win 20 if he does not.

You offered up the 5x on my 20 as a result of me ignoring any potential DL time.

Does this sound right?

On edit: Don't ever confuse me with wanna-be lawyer Mojo ever again!

Just kidding, dudes. For the sake of the team, I hope Frank has to pay up.

Bump.

5 more wins to go!

And Frank, recall the ERA we settled on? Was it 4.2 or 4.5?

I REALLY want to say 4.2. You make the call though.

Interesting "something to watch" race:

Which comes first---Glavine's #300 or Bonds' record-setting HR.

My money's on Glavine.

In a strange way the best thing that could happen for baseball and Bud Selig would be for this to occur on the same day so that the coverage and juxtaposition of stories would take a little shine off Bonds. I realize that 300 wins and the record Bonds is after are in different spheres, and while I tend to disagree because I believe everything is cyclical, there are many who believe Glavine will be the last pitcher to reach 300 wins. Randy Johnson has a shot but physically he might not make it. Couple that with the fact that anyone with a brain knows Bonds is a fraud and much of the media is suddenly searching for that "apologetic" moment so that Bonds can be celebrated, it would just make for an interesting juxstaposition.

better question - which came first the chicken or the egg?

(actually an incredibly STUPID question, as eggs were in play since the dawn of sexual [heh heh ----- sexual.....] reproduction in invertebrates, LONG before avians came to be.)
