| Forgive me if this was posted, but I saw it on Metsblog and figured it would be a nice conversation starter. Personally, I think the kid is a bit cocky for having having done (relatively) little so far in his brief career, but I like his attitude and I'm sure we'd feel the same way. In fact...when Aramis hit that grand slam, I wanted one in his ear for the way he just stood there... I still think saying it instead of just DOING something about it is the p*ssy way out though....The old, "all bark, no bite" if you will. “You need to act like you've done it before. He's a veteran. He should know better. It's the old sacred game thing. There are little kids out there that are looking up to you. They look at what happens. That's not the right way to do things. It's a situation where you know you're going to face him for the next five, six, 10 years. It'll be more in his head than mine. It'll affect him more than me because I'll have the ball in my hand, controlling what happens.” |

| Given Cole's first comments about the ruling of the home run, and the fact that it was the third homer in a row to give the Mets the lead AND the fact that Paulie isn't exactly a power threat I say: Cry more newbie.

| ...and Rollins' bat flick after the home run off of Heilman wasn't cocky? Please. I really want Maine or Perez to hit that prick. With that said, as long as Lo Duca isn't hit in the head or hurt, I wouldn't be terribly surprised or outraged if he got hit either... |

| Haha, maybe he could have a running bet with Gomez and Reyes to see if they can beat him to the mound from wherever they happen to be at the time of the beaning.

| I think someone else posted this quote already, you wiould think a knowledgable fan such as yourself would have noticed that already ![]() All kidding aside, as others have said, if Hamels does hit LoDuca he better knock him the **** out or give Howard a heads up so he can protect him because LoDuca would kick the **** out Hamels. That said, if Utley or Howard did that bat flip against us we would be up in arms about it as well so I can't blame Hamels for being irked. |

| No I totally agree it does make him sound like a cry baby. There is a big difference betwen being pissed about it and doing something on the field about it and crying to the media about it. |

| Absolutely - which is why I give a lot more credit to the Mets under Willie for generally keeping quiet on these things. I think the next series is going to be a LOT more fun to watch, hopefully be then they'll have snapped out of this pretty lousy slump and give the Phils a smack upside the head. |
