| Anybody hear any update on Endy? It certainly looked bad during the game, and the last thing we need is more playing time for Newhan or Ben Johnson. With Green and Alou due back soon (supposedly), I guess that makes for a relatively easy transaction (Chavez to DL and Green/Alou back) Is there another solution available out there though? I don't know of any name in the minors (Milledge hurt and Martinez probably not ready yet) but what about FAs who were let go by their teams.. there has to be somebody out there that is better than Ben Johnson. Any ideas? Somebody I talked to threw out the idea of Bernie, but I don't think he'd come to the Mets (although I wouldn't be opposed to it) |

| The more likely move is to activate Valentin first. They could stick Easley in left then. Green isn't eligible to come off until Sunday, and god knows when Alou will be back. Rockies did designate Steve Finley for assigment earlier in the week if you want to go the trade route. |

| That is true.. forgot that Easley has had some time in the outfield this season. I'd be interested in a veteran guy like Finley, because he wouldn't cost much and he'd definitely bring a desire to win with him. I just don't like seeing some of these guys hitting in key situations late in the game. I have no confidence in Johnson or Newhan (despite his hit tonight). When they were talking about Alou during the game, it didn't sound good at all, and I don't think Easley is an everyday OF. Just looking for possible solutions... |

| Senior Member | Give the Cubs a call and see what they want for Jacque Jones. Apparently they've been trying to unload his salary for awhile, which is weird because he's only making $4 million this year and $5 million next year. I can't imagine he'd be too expensive... As for in house options, I'd rather give Caleb Stewart a brief call-up then any of the other crappy options down on the farm if need be... |

I think I will projectile vomit if they even consider Ledee. Too bad Milledge is hurt. I have a suspicion we aren't going to see Alou any time soon.

| the term I heard was "week-to-week"... I don't think we'll be seeing him anytime soon. Last edited by mets84 : 06-07-2007 at 09:13 AM. Reason: can't remember where I read "week-to-week"... it wasn't metsblog, apparently |

The guy was terrible when he was with a good Angels team. Pathetic with the Giants last year and Anderson Hernandez bad with the Rockies this year. Newhan and even Ledee (who would also make me vomit) BOTH have better numbers in recent history by a good margin...... Steve Phillips GIGS player.

Gotay didn't do his. I don't care if the ball was hit sharply. It was an obvious ground ball, and Howard's big body flopped to get it. You CAN'T just stand there and not run on contact.
