No of course not. "He'd" have been running for President

See this is why this pick was a fit of sheer genius.

pops?, **** I'm not that old........No, Romney is a dope and would have been an equal disaster, I would have figured it would have been Bobby Jindal or Tim Pawlenty. I thought they would be better choice, I also thought he might consider Huckabee, but that would have been a long, long shot

My analogy doesn't quite work though. Obama actually has considerably less relevant experience than Palin.

"While Palin was a sportscaster Obama was teaching law"??

While Obama was voting "yes" "no" "present" "absent" on documents that his staff read and outlined for him (oh, and running for President with help from Ayres and Wright...) Palin was ---

-Exposing her own party for corruption

-Suing the federal gov't for state rights' access to natural resources

-RUNNING A STATE

(can't understate actual management experience!) Two Senators in office together is like hiring two health department clipboard toters to run Tyson Chicken --- when you actual MANAGE something you prove or disprove if you can budget and hire and fire staff to meet the laws that lawyers (scum idiots) sit around and write

-Earning a high 80-low 90% approval rating.

-Killing moose in the Alaskan tundra

-Being hot

-Raising a son that will go off and kill terrorists. How is charlie Rangel going to toss out his "wars are run by rich Whites sending our Black and Hispanic children off to foreign lands" schtick?

Yeah, he's got so much on her I can't stand it.

Jindal never would have taken it. He doesn't need McCain. In fact he'd have one hell of a lot more to lose than to gain by accepting. Now Jerz, do you hoestly expect me to believe that Tim Pawlenty would have been a wiser choice than Palin?

Now I have to admit I preferred Romney myself as I was hoping he appoint a sort of anchor for his fiscal policy as veep. And yes (sorry KO) I do think it's strange Romney plays the fiscal guru in my mind here but compared to McCain he is. But he'd have been rough in the election. For some reason voters didn't flock to him. The 7 house thing would take over the narrative. He'd have been great after the inaugural, but a little rough in the election. Palin, though is an inspired back-up. Fantastic for the election and good, solid and competent after the inaugural. Pawlenty would have put everyone to sleep.

All I know is that when Obama threw away any chance he had of getting elected by picking Biden, Jmac has returned the favor and now the game will actually be worth watching.

Or maybe the veep doesnt really matter and this whole thread is a waste.

How many times has the veep decided the outcome? I can think of LBJ in 1960 and that's about it.

If she's so into exposing her own party for corruption, they should set her loose in the White House, and bring doucheboy and shotgun Dick out in f*cking cuffs.

You wouldn't BELIEVE how fast I'd vote for her then.

But of course, she'll be hugging and kissing Mr. President, the representative of her party, next week in Minneapolis, and telling him about how well he's represented the GOP. Like an MLB rookie, she's "just glad to be here. Hoping I can be a team player, and help my team to some wins."

I'm flattered that you remembered that... But what the heck does John McCain's turkey neck have to do with how I would vote. That was a comment on his age, and the (seeming) desperation to get "younger" that this nomination hints at.

Besides, I'm trying to find the inner Ann Coulter in myself. (insulting a candidate's physicality). Seems to grab your attention and respect more easily than my plain old posts.
