Does anyone but the Democratic candidate ever win New Jersey? Or is it a forgone conclusion for this state?

No and Yes

One of the reasons I can't be too proud of the state I live in.

You should have seen the stunt they played to get Lousenberg back in office a few years ago. Disgusting.

Malkin (and Steyn) cover this and nail it:

If Obama actually believes this crap we are in more trouble than I thought.

Author and National Review Online blogger Mark Steyn’s sharp rejoinder to McCain then applies to Obama now: “There’s plenty of evidence out there that the most extreme ‘extremists’ are those who’ve been most exposed to the west - and western education: from Osama bin Laden (summer school at Oxford, punting on the Thames) and Mohammed Atta (Hamburg University urban planning student) to the London School of Economics graduate responsible for the beheading of Daniel Pearl. The idea that handing out college scholarships to young Saudi males and getting them hooked on Starbucks and car-chase movies will make this stuff go away is ridiculous - and unworthy of a serious presidential candidate.”

Oh and I love how you can so flippantly dismiss the fact that we haven't had another terrorist attack on our soil in almost 7 years. Like there was anyone back then who thought that was possible.
Are we really giving Bush credit for this? How many years between WTC attack one and two? And that's with NO Homeland Security, the FBI and CIA with their heads up their asses, airlines letting boxcutters on board planes, and our government ignoring vital memos. About eight years between them, if not more.

I'll give Bush a little credit when Osama is in shackles at Guantanamo. Otherwise, I'm not impressed.

Well why the hell not, if we're now going to blame the guy for everything under the sun from the hurricanes to the subprime meltdown to poisoned cat food you might as well.

That would be about 8 years, by the way, that is if you ignore all the embassies reduced to rubble along with the bombing of the USS Cole (all US soil, by the way). Look (almost) everyone would love to see Osama caught and strung up, but it's time to look around and see that along with the guy who conceived orchestrated and coordinated the 9/11 attacks over the past 7 years American forces have killed or neutralized almost everyone else in the Al Qaeda command structure plus, as Mule's pointed out for months and months, scores of irreplaceable trained operatives. You have a problem giving Bush credit for that, fine. Yes, it's not quite bin Laden. But it's time to acknowledge that someone might deserve a little credit for it.

Can't find Osama because he's a professional hider/coward/faggot. The idea is to dismantle what makes him relevant. While I want him taken into US Custody, imagine if we captured him in 2002 but gave up the fight against Al Queda. Would we be safer? Would the world be safer? Who is willing to bet their lives or my life on it?
