Default Diversity Training

I have this shitstain training scheduled all day tomorrow. It's listed as mandatory for the supervisor and higher levels of management. Can they make a seminar like this mandatory? I'm thinking of refusing to go. I heard some of my co-workers talk about them doing exercises and things like that. I really don't feel like sharing my lifestories and thoughts on race, age or sex. I'm really afraid I may get repremanded for what I say or think, which I think is unfair. As long as I don't bring those views into the workplace, why should I have to go?

You need to get video of this. I would pay good money to watch some of that. It's best to start out by telling them exactly what you think of "diversity training". In fact, every time you use the term, make those little "quote" signs in the air with your fingers. Then tell HR they're completely worthless and that the company would save hundreds of thousands of dollars by contracting the HR department and getting rid of stupid diversity seminars and respectful workplace classes.

You know what Mule I would very much like to do that. I just got the job after being unemployed for awhile, so I really have to watch out. That being said, the company is investing management's time in this all day seminar. There are 36 days dedicated to this "climate change" scam of a training event from no until the end of august at our different locations.

I'm thinking about sharing the time I said 80% of blacks are essentially bad people and how misguided I was and that I now know, through diversity and learning that it's more like 85% now....hahahah i kid

Yeah, well, all races have their crosses to bear. I don't think white people are particularly proud of, oh, say David Koresh, Adolph Hitler, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc.,

The diversity stuff is bad enough, but it's the mandatory sexual harassment training that burns me. All that accomplishes is showing people how far they can push the envelope. However, by providing it, they are laying the groundwork to stay out of court when they're sued for having a hostile environment. I guess the same theory applies for why they do diversity training.

I can understand some things, but all friggin day???? I know you can't make comments about certain things in the work place, i think most people do. Can't they just leave it at that? I'm going to have real trouble staying awake for this shitt and I'll be damned if I have to participate. Making this mandatory is what is making me mad.

I got a standing ovation at an office in NJ where the lawyer conducting the sexual harassment seminar threatened to have me removed. I just told her I wasn't going to listen to her hypocrisy.

Well, it just got a tad bit worse. I'm on the waiting list since I signed up late(manager just informed me it was mandatory) so if there isn't a seat for me, I get to travel to one of our other offices, either in newark (70 mi one way) or Eatontown (65 mi one way). The class starts at 8:30 am, so if I need to travel there, I have to leave at like 6:30am to tackle the traffic on the turnpike and it ends at 4:30, which means I aint getting home till 6:30pm. Lucky me. Fuking Diversity.

Is the Newark location walking distance from Penn Station? If so, take the NJ Transit train -- about 15 minutes from NY Penn Station.

It's right next to it. Only problem is, is that nearest nj transit station that runs on that line, is the one in trenton or hamilton, which is still a 40 minute ride.

I take the train to my Newark office all the time. It's only a couple minute walk from Penn Station.

As we speak, I just got an email from my corporate folks that says I am way late in taking my on-line ethics training.

It's about a 30-minute drive to Hamilton for me. You could always take the River Line to Trenton.....

I could do that. I'm not that far from camden and I'm a few minutes walk from the speedline. But I only get reimbursed for the trainfare. If I take my car I get 58.5 cents per mile and I can contribute to climate change.

Diversity training was invented by fags, retards and useless people in an effort to try to make normal people feel as societally abnormal as they are.

I agree Frank. Word is there is an exercise about a giraffe and an elephant. Oh god I want to die. I thought watching the 20 minute "ouch, that stereotype hurt!" video was bad enough. This is ALL DAY LONG.

I can't wait to say that stereotypes have validity to them since that have had to come from somewhere.

Giraffes are tall, thin, attractive (stunning markings on their fur designed to woo hot mates) and have adapted over time to their surroundings. i.e. - they've evolved to be able to succeed where other species fail - they're able to get to resources that other animals can't get to - they eat leaves from tall trees.

The elephant is a fat ****ing slob that eats whatever is available at the time, starves when food isn't plentiful and destroys everything in its path to suit its own needs.

I liken this to Western civilization domesticating livestock, then inventing the internal combustion engine, then airplanes, then space travel as a means of getting from point a to point b while lesser societies still travel on foot or via beast.

Use THAT and you'll come off like a genious while winning points with the rest of the pissed off members of your organization.
