Having actually read in detail what Paul actually thinks about the situation (I will gladly provide links to his writings over the years and what research he formed his opinion from) and understanding where he is coming from, I can disagree with his logic on the matter and still see that he has never blamed the US for 9/11.
So I guess we should never have helped liberate Kuwait and then defend it and its neighbors from Iraq? His policy of non intervention would allow dictators around the world to do as they please. I see no problem with trying to bottle up and destroy hostile, violent regimes around the world. So by defending Kuwait, we 'invited' 9/11. Really... I can see how people support Paul's rose colored glasses view of how things 'should be' but I don't think they 'scale well' to the real world. We can't go back and undo the past which is basically his foreign policy. Guess what ... they hate us NOW, and we can't change that by tucking tail and running away. You know I could go back through history books too and tell what the US should have done at every corner, but what do we do NOW? thats what the president needs to worry about.

Obama rockets past Clinton in New Hampshire*|*Top News*|*Reuters.com

Quote:
MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama rocketed to a 10-point lead over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire one day before their showdown in the state's presidential primary, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Monday.

Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona also began to pull away from rival Mitt Romney, opening a five-point lead on the Massachusetts governor as what had been tight races in both parties began to open up.

This is the first of the rolling New Hampshire polls taken entirely after last week's caucuses in Iowa, where Obama and Republican Mike Huckabee scored breakthrough wins that left Clinton and Romney reeling.

Obama, an Illinois senator bidding to make history as the first black U.S. president, gained 11 points on Clinton to lead the one-time Democratic front-runner 39 percent to 29 percent. Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards was third with 19 percent.

"This is a breathtaking movement in Obama's direction," said pollster John Zogby. "It's a surge for Obama and movement away from Clinton."
An emotional Clinton vows to fight on*|*News One*|*Reuters.com

Quote:
PORTSMOUTH, New Hampshire (Reuters) - A teary-eyed Hillary Clinton pushed for support on Monday as polls showed her poised for a huge New Hampshire loss to Democratic rival Barack Obama, but the former front-runner vowed to carry on with her presidential quest even if she loses.

...

At a campaign event in Portsmouth, Clinton choked up and grew uncharacteristically emotional when she talked about her reasons for seeking the presidency.

"Some of us put ourselves out there and do this," she said, her voice breaking and her eyes glistening with tears, "against some pretty difficult odds and we do it, each one of us, because we care about our country."

"But some of us are right and some of us are wrong," she said in a quaking voice. "Some of us are ready and some of us are not."
At this point, I'd rather listen to Al Gore back on the campaign trail than this chick...Gore might actually be more genuine. And yes I mean that.

I agree with you 100 percent. Id rather have Gore as president and Edwards as vice President.

Not at all what he has said about the topic.

Later today I will post his actual writings. None of which have ever said we invited 9/11.

He is not opposed to taking military action. Just not when it is for the corrupt UN and done in a not legal way (according to the constitution).

He served for crying out loud.

I wasn't able to find much about his opinion on the first gulf war... i did find this in an article:
Quote:
Paul’s opposition to the war in Iraq did not come out of nowhere. He was against the first gulf war, the war in Kosovo and the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, which he called a “declaration of virtual war.” Although he voted after Sept. 11 to approve the use of force in Afghanistan and spend $40 billion in emergency appropriations, he has sounded less thrilled with those votes as time has passed. “I voted for the authority and the money,” he now says. “I thought it was misused.”
More or less saying that he was against the gulf war and the war in kosovo. I guess because defending other countries is what? unconstitutional? I look forward to the enlightenment of his writings where such justifications are made.

What are you talking about? He says it at every debate. Is this one of Fredo's co-workers pulling our leg?

Hillary has lost it, and I couldn't be happier. I hope she tries to drag this out even though she has no shot, just to make it more torture on her and her supporters.

IMHO, the country is ready for a woman president. Too bad Hillary is not a woman.

Well I think the success that Obama and Hillary are having definitely shows that enough people are willing to have a minority or female president. Certainly seems that if they don't get it this year that certainly within my lifetime it will happen. I don't personally agree with either of their politics but I also don't think either would be a catastrophic mistake.

As long as Schillary isn't in the mix you might just as well throw a dart blindfolded.

So did John Kerry for God's sake. WTF?

Anyway I must have been watching a different guy on all these talk shows for weeks than the one gregjefferies endorses.

We'll all know after Feb 5th....Hillary will probably win both California and New York...The south, in a race between Obama Clinton and Edwards....gotta believe , given the alternatives, the south will go with Edwards....I think all three will be there till the convention, gonna be interesting

McCain, Romney, Rudy look like the eventual top three. Huckabee reminds of of a Paul Tsongas, just enough to make a little noise early, but not there at the end...

I still say we end up with an Edwards Romney race.

Edwards is toast and cannot win no matter how much you may prate otherwise. If Obama does not win, then Hillary will. It will be a miracle if Edeards hasn't dropped by super tuesday

Edwards had been campaigning in Iowa for about five years and he finished a distant second. If he doesn't win New Hampshire, which he won't, the slim chance he has now turns to none.
