Two young Americans, about the same age. Both made decisions that much of the country would find questionable, even abhorrent.

Media investigation of one revealed a “journey of spiritual zeal, linguistic and cultural education,” an “emotional” young person who had an “independent spirit.” Others interviewed described him as one who “loves America” and is “a sweet kid.”

Media investigation of the other revealed intolerance (of homosexuality), a willingness to deceive and implied cheating (boob job in a beauty pageant), hypocrisy and abandonment of religious beliefs (partially nude photos). Others interviewed described her as “polarizing” and “opportunistic.”

The second young person is obviously Carrie Prejean, Miss California. The first? John Walker Lindh, the American Taliban.

Shouldn't be. But hilariously, NBC claimed the photo was "too risque" for the Today Show and left it to everyone's imagination. Meanwhile, the exact same type of pic (from the side, t*ts covered with arm) was on the cover of the SI Swimsuit Issue years ago.

And, by the way, the Today Show didn't think that Cho idiot's post-massacre publicity tape was "too risque" to play over and over again. Man, the media are a bunch of twisted sickos.

just imagine how all the nation's problems would immediately be solved if ALL media outlets followed the examples FOX and Newsmax and Carlos Delgado stood for God Bless America.

KO's got a point, Jerz...don't you think it's sort of hypocritical how shootings get coverage so total it goes beyond extreme in the detail, and yet they get an attack of morals when Ms. California takes her top off?

I'm not sure why the news media picked ANYTHING regarding the beauty Queen. Personally, I think we need to hear ALL the news regarding shootings. I've no problem with "total coverage"....the beauty queen should be relegated to Access Hollywood......but, its not the news outlets who are hypocritical, they are just providing the intellectual pablum that the majority of this country considers "news"

now, take a step back form this post and give some honest, deep, introspective thought to your own words.....can you honestly say that discussing things with you is not without "tweaks" and is not something that others also tire of ..........we are not that much different in how we apporach these little chats.
