Outside of KO's curb minding (which is a neccesary evil), I liked it. That press release looks like it was written by the Onion. Who the hell are they employing that they write like glorified idealists. Oh wait.

They are spaced out as I view it, single line spaced. Are you saying that in your view they're run together, or they need more spacing than single line?

Red, if you go in and look at the "raw" HTML of your post, that one paragraph is a mess of % symbols and such. I'm assuming it's a link to something?

I can smell some lessons in HTML in my future...I hope you're all happy.

edit: to whomever just fixed that, you are the wind beneath my wings.

For some reason, this:

I tried it in two different browsers. The first is what it should look like. In HTML, you can use a double linebreak (<br><br>) to create a paragraph space.

Thanks for the heads up KO, all fixed.

And thanks Fonzy. Btw, it's too late to suck up to SJR, you're still on his list.

Yeah. Calling you a mentally retarded serial killer is totally fine, but making fun of "addictions" is completely uncalled for. Who wrote these f*cking rules? Can we stop being pussies now? Addictions. Who gives a f*ck? So someone was addicted to something. That makes them some kind of untouchable victim? Please.

Addicts drain the sh*t out of the normal, the unaddicted and the sane. They take our money, our time, and they totally f*ck our emotional energy and lives to hell and f*cking back. If you haven't experienced this happy bit of life from the side of the sane or unaddicted caring soul, consider yourself extemely lucky.

If the "addicted", not to mention "formerly addicted" can't take a few barbs about it, then I suggest that it ain't your problem, Stevie.

KO, look at it now and tell me if it's fixed.

What's the deal with this NYU protest/"occupation"? (warning: high douchebag content ahead)

Back to getting this back on track somewhat.

Idea came to me, perhaps this can also branch out into a weekly, or thereabouts WAF Podcast. Basically a summary of the site's posts and some extra things thrown in as well.

Eh, just an idea to throw out there.

I've never listened to a podcast and have no idea how we'd do one. I'm not opposed to the concept but one thing I am opposed to is this thing getting too big too fast and blowing up. Something to consider for the future but right now we've got enough peas bouncing around the plate.

What's our rule on using "anonymous"/unlinkable sources? I have some inside info on a defense contract (from one of the possible vendors) that got cut that I'd like to rant about, but I have nothing I can link to. I'm still searching Defenselink to try to find the memo on the program budget being cut but it's not posted that I can find. The vendor is not going to want me quoting them directly, I can guarantee that. They're hoping this program might magically reappear in 2010 (yeah, right, and Romy will get his wings then too).

edit: this program was not cut by the Obama administration either...new info is it was cut in Congressional committee, but principal reason was cost.

Re: anonymous/unlinkable sources... I don't think there's any rule. You can do a "word on the street" post, which is just to be taken for what it is... word on the street. The only thing I'd be concerned about is spreading anything that might be particularly sensitive. It's out there on the 'net, and although the chances are absolutely minimal, all someone has to do is link to it and suddenly it's common knowledge. So just think twice about what "word on the street" you're putting out there before doing it.

As far as those paragraphs, they're still a bit of a mess. IE has a huge space between them and Firefox shows no space. Can you edit the html? Get the <p>'s and </p>'s out from between them and just put in a <br><br>.

If the source doesn't mind information being made public as long as it's not attributable, then I don't see the problem.

How is it students not even from NYU can lock themselves in a dining hall and claim the university has no recourse to remove them by force? They are trespassing on private property. Police should have come in with tear gas and ****ing bean bag shots to take those ****ers down.

I'd never violate any OPSEC/PERSEC stuff, that's not a concern here. This is a known, publicized program that is very small (upper $20 millions) in the grand scheme of things but very important "at the tip of the spear" so to speak. It's just so small and so specific that nobody beyond a handful cares that it got cut. Problem is some of that handful could die because of it.

I'll keep plugging away and hopefully find something I can link to.

There certainly should be a MOFO podcast. That'd kick ass.

I was thinking TaserFest 2009, but your system works too.

Taser is working on a new self contained "fire and forget" projectile that's launched from a 12 gauge shotgun. That means with a proper shotgun, I could Tase 9 different hippies as fast as I could work the pump on the shotgun. Just thinking about that gives me wood.
