| Colin Powell endorses Barack Obama for president - Yahoo! News Not sure how much worse it can get for McCain.... If a higher ranking military or diplomat endorses McCain, let me know.... Hannity might actually cry instead of just whine for an hour. |

| How about nearly the entire military? Military Poll: McCain Over Obama Overwhelmingly » Blue Star Chronicles Powell has been butting heads with the GOP and administration for a long time. If you were surprised by this, there is a good chance you are retarded. |

Sorry, gregg, I know you're upset and frustrated, but you are one of the bottom of the list in the MOFO in terms of having room to criticize anyone's intellect. Colin Powell is a military hero and a former secretary of state of the sitting president. Even you should be able to understand the significance of this endorsement.

Significance of his endorsement? It's been known for a long time that he wasn't a fan of mccain or bush. You would have to be living under a rock not to know that. Considering that for many minorities on the left he was known as a "house n----r", how big of an endorsement do you expect it to be?

| Just for the record, Powell is out of his f*cking mind. He went on and on about Republican attacks over the last few weeks that "Obama's a Muslim". Where the f*ck were those accusations? Seriously, if were going to endorse someone based on party fringe accusations how about all the sh*t about how McCain betrayed his country for being tortured in the Hanoi Hilton, or all the endless crap about Palin, or ruining a man's life because he dared ask a question of The One?

almost as significant as the 2000 lib nominee for VP endorsing McCain.

Remember when Zell Miller endorsed Bush and the libs went on and on about how age had caught up to him and he was basically portrayed by the media as having alzheimers. I'm sure this will be played up the same way.

| Look let me be clear here, the man served his country well and honorably and has obviously earned the right to participate in the political process. Just say you were disillusioned with the republicans for a while like we all know you were and don't give us the bullsh*t that it's because McCain called Obama a muslim. Please.

| Huh? Barry Von Whitey. The same wet behind the ears, radically left candidate, but white. Would Powell be endorsing him? It's an easy question. And I know the answer because I've asked three times now and nobody's volunteered it. |

But let's suppose for the sake of discussion that you're on to something, that race is a factor in terms of anybody's support of Obama. And that gender was an aspect in the ascendancies of Hillary and Sarah (I don't think you would protest this extrapolation). Then coulnd't we reasonably argue that the main reason anyone would support Obama, Hillary or Palin is because of race and/or gender and that this is wrong? There's just one little problem here: race and gender have been criteria for the selection of every US president to date. No one has been nominated for the position unless they were white and male. For a long period of time it was not legal for non whites to hold elected office or vote. For a long period of time women were not allowed to hold elected office or vote. So unless you were a white male, you were effectively denied the opportunity to hold elected office or help decide who did. Talk about rigging a system and making race an issue! I can't help but to notice that you have never brought that point up. You know what? I think you're right: race is a big part of why Obama is the nominee. And this follows a pattern dating back for 43 presidents. So while I'm not sure if this answers your question, I have one of my own for you: is the only reason you indict race as an issue in this year's election but ignore its role throughout American history because this year's leading candidate is black? Gosh I hope not, but there are signs that point to that conclusion.
