Default McCian's speech sucked

Worst of the 4 biggies. Palin was exponentially better. Ditto Obama.

I thought the speech was ok.

I like McCain, don't want him to be President. I think I respected him more back in 2000 when Bush,Rove and the ah crew trashed him. But being trashed by Bush is probably as big an assett as one can get. It's just now Mac is just too old, he's liable to croak and leave us with a soccer mom as president. Just like an old tv show. Commander and Chief where Gena Davis played a vice president who became president when the pres. keeled over. I hate to say it but John's Grand pa keeled over shortly after coming home from WWII and he was about 11 years younger than John is now. John's Dad. Chief of naval ops in Viet Nam When I was there in 1970-72, keeled over at about 70 years old. John's 71 now and has had a tougher life than either his dad or grand pa.

However McCains mom is 96 and still lucid. Obama's Mother passed in her early 50's.

I thought it was a good speech. I liked when he said that as President that he didn't care which side comes up with a good idea...just that it was a good idea for America. And I've said for years our 2 party system sucks because nobody wants the other side to look good...always what's best for the party, not the country. And the reason I don't think it's BS is because he has a record of bi-partisan work.

People go to Washington to work for themselves not for you! Well said. I think he did a good job tonight. And looking forward to watching on Sept 26.

I've always liked McCain and if he had run vs Hil I'd be voting for him. But public spekaing is just not his thing.

Felt fake. He always feels fake. Seems like a nice guy, but while some points hit home with me he didn't inspire me.

All I know is that I fell asleep during it, so it couldn't have been too good.

Here's the thing, I don't think he could. I thought the best part of the speech was towards the end, when he talked about his experiences as a POW. Before that it was very paint by the numbers, and somewhat dull.

It wasn't a disaster, so he didn't shoot himself in the foot, which is all you can expect from him. He'll sink or swim with the debates.

For starters, he could talk about a little about his plans for lowering the tax. Don't just say "My opponent wants to raise it...I will lower it" OK....how?

The debates will answer that question...I hope.

I think he plans to make the tax cuts permanant. That would be swell by me.

Yeah it didn't have a big speech feel and there wasn't a lot of meat and potato talk in it like it should have been. I thought his pow stuff was great and his reaching out to everyone for help and the fighting and standing up part were also good. That being said, he did look very robotic and uncomfortable. But since he explained he had several broken bones that were not set right, I can understand a little more why he moves like that.

And he is not dying, not anytime soon. That sucked about his grandfather. 1st day back from war and you die. Man oh man.

I think he will fair well in the debates. He seems able to answer tough questions when they are asked of him. Obama, i'm not so sure would be able to do that.
