As I mentioned to you previously..cool concept..but Unfortuantely...I MUST VOTE AGAINST IMPLEMENTATION AND USAGE..as it may impair my chances in winning league again..

League Announcement

First will be keepers. As you know, each team is allowed 5 keeper players. The deadline for announcing you keeper players has been set to 11:59 PM on Saturday, October 25th. You can change who is on your keeper any time before the deadline.

Secondly, after reviewing *62's request fro some rule changes I have come to a decision that should benefit all teams and they are as follows:
  • FG% & FT% - These two categories will remain. This league values having complete players on your roster, you can't get by with just "chuckers"
  • FGM - This category will be removed. I agree that it is too similar to points, and upon review I found was not even a category in our first season.
  • 3PT% - This cateogry will be removed. This category is being removed simply because after reviewing last season's stats, the numbers were pretty dismal.
  • BN - We will be shortening the bench from 4 slots to 3. This league was built on the premise of two bench spots, and two IL spots. We never adjusted to the NBA IL roster rule change, and in reality have caused many teams to sink after a major injury has lef them with slim pickings on the waiver wire. With each team having one less player, there should be a pool of at least 8-12 decent free Agents to help you make it through the season.

All looks well and good

BUT I cant seem to think that losing a bench limits some strategy in the game in seeing which player will break out etc.. also losing a bench.. wouldnt it in effect mean that a team cant stash away an injured player for a part of the season and if said player was a keeper (either this year or one you wanted to keep for the following year)...

ehh doesnt really matter I guess...

I kind of agree with this..One less bn means one LESS spot to hold on to a keeper that gets injured...I actually thought FA pool was just right..there was just ENOUGH talent there..players like B. Wallace/Gomes/JO etc. were all there for the taking in FA pool...AS long as league STAYS at 10 teams..pool of FA was good enough..but either way is fine...dumping two cats make sense too..one way to increase bench is to reduce util by one and put bn to four..result..same amount of players DRAFTED..but one less used on a given day..so depth is increased..

I was about to let Romy know he's in... but looks like he beat me to the punch and signed in. That means DDP and Romy will be having a mini-draft to select their keepers in the next few days. (New Seperate Thread)

As for the BN spots, let me explain my thought process. When we had an injured list, there were only two bench spots. So unless you have someone injured, you had 12 roster spots. Now if you had an injury, you had 13 or 14 players, but again, only when someone was ineliglble due to injury. Now the last two seasons, each team has had two extra players than it used to, for the entire season... drying up the waiver wire.

If you guys disagree just let me know... I'm not a dictator. I'll add them back if there are more than a few dissenters.

I understand your reasoning but remember since the NBA took away the IL they added 3 spots from12 to 15 but only 12 dress..

Fantasy differs because your 14 guys aren't all playing on the same night. However, I will take your request into account. I like the fact that you have to take injury-riddled players into account when you draft... it makes guys like Wade more risky, which IMO, is more realistic... but I will consider adding it back or going with 86'S alternative. I should have a decision by tomorrow.

Ok, I've decided to go with 86's suggestion, and take away a Util spot to add the BN spot back. If there are still objections, let me know... I'll be making the change later tonight.
