Sad news to start. Damion Easley’s father, Raymond, passed away. Funeral arrangements are pending. Easley’s stay on the bereavement list expires Monday. The Mets can’t put him on the disabled list because he’s not injured. They are seeing if there’s a way he can play in a minor league game or two before rejoining the team. Most likely they will play short-handed until he returns.
