Not exactly. No way he's locked in for next year, but there's nothing to stop the team from re-signing him if they want to.
IMO his days as a regular are done, and I'm rooting for Ruben to win the job. If he doesn't, then we'll have to look elsewhere (I'd try for Hudson or Phillips, but doubt they're available) this Winter.
But if Omar wants JV back as a part-timer, he'll sign him.
