He more than came back down to earth, which is why a lot of people will blame it on the concussions. The power that's always been there (especially doubles) went away completely when he returned. He's probably not as good as his first couple of months, but he's not nearly as bad as his last two either. I think he's capable of something a little better than the .813 OPS he put up in 2007 if healthy, which is not that bad when you factor in plus defense. But you don't just go from 43 doubles in 470 AB's to 14 in 319 AB's unless something ain't right...
As for Milledge, his performance and potential haven't been worth the baggage he brings. Outside of a hot August he was plain horrible. If he can't develop in Washington where nobody cares he wouldn't stand a chance in NY...
