 2008 NY Mets = No Collapse
I just wanted to remind many of us Mets fans that even though the Mets might not make the playoffs thia year, we have to see the brighter picture here.
1) We're not suffering through a collapse like last year.
2) The Mets were 6.5 games out of 1st place just when Willie was fired around June 17th.
3) This year, they were playing for a playoff spot which makes it much more exciting than aggravating like last year.
4) And even though we may not make it, the Mets made a good run. Way better than the Yankees did this year.
Hopefully next year, the bullpen will be completely revamped and that our starting pitchers will be healthy and last more than 4 to 5 innings. Finally, hopefully our batters will learn to shorten their swings and make contact with men in scoring position.
Other than that, I personally don't feel any regret that the Mets don't make it this year. |
