Take Wright, OTOH, who had two home runs two Sunday's ago and one this past Sunday, both of which put his tean in position to win until the bullpen blew the games.

Still, if both teams make the playoffs I think it should be Wright.
Forget the average....its low because the guy is hitting .200 when no one is on. The instant someone gets on he's a .300 hitter...and as the situation gets bigger so does his numbers.

Even back when he was hitting .220 he wasnt costing them games....he was winning games for them. He's got 140 RBIs despite hitting .230 going into Sept. He was always clutch....its just now he's taken it to a whole new level.

Plus you have to look at the lineups. Utley is the only other guy with 100 RBIs and he's been invisible since the all-star break (31 RBIs compared to Howards 27 in Sept alone)....and he hits infront of Howard.

Meanwhile with Wright you've got Beltran and Delgado hitting behind him....both around 110 RBIs....and the NL hit leader in Reyes ahead of him. More RBI chances...more protection behind him....and more guys to steal votes.

Believe me I know Wright is the better overall player, but when it comes to meaning more to the team they are on....its been Howard this year. Delgado and Beltran have carried this team down the stretch as much as Wright has. For the Phils its all been on Howard.

Right now its Howard 1, Wright 2. If they flip spots in the division, then I think it will change...but till then even with how much I hate Philly and Howard I can't go that route.
