I can see your point, but voters look at either perceived clutch ability (see Rollins last season), or how shiney a players bat is, hence Howard being considered.
Were his team in contention, the winner should be the fart sniffer Pujols. Have you seen his OPS? The only other player within 93 points is Chipper, and he's not healthy enough to be considered. His clutch numbers are obscene in every situation -
