Aside from the bullpen, the mental toughness of this team MUST be questioned, as they rarely come through in clutch situations. For some insane reason, the offense seems to think a baseball game is won and lost in the first 3 innings. Most of us know, it doesn't work that way.

You claim you cant blame Omar for this ? Who DO we blame ? The tooth fairy ? Any smart GM would have had the bullpen as priority #1, after last seasons debacle. Omar deluded himself into thinking all was well, while we ALL knew it was not. This, and NOT firing Willie at the end of last season, may very well prove to be our undoing AGAIN this season.

It's ALL on Omar's head, and he needs to be gone.
Everyone acts like you can just go out and pick a reliever from a tree and everything will be fixed.

Okay, so if Omar had gone out and gotten Fuentes, Marte or whoever (and it would have cost one of or some combination of Murphy, Evans or Parnell/Niese)....would it have fixed everything/anything? Everyone would have complained about that too....

It is not as easy as some people think. There is no guarantee that any new reliever would have fixed everything anyway. It is a culture...not an individual problem. The Mets bullpen sucks and has a stigma that everyone within succumbs to.

Any team in baseball can say....we need more pitching....we need more hitting...we need more bullpen....

That is why only 1 team wins every year. Sure, our bullpen sucks....Sure, Willie situation was botched.....but how were the Mets doing before Omar got here?

I am by no means a Minaya "supporter"....I have a lot of beef.

I just think it is too easy to just lay all of our angst on someone other than the players.

The Mets 25 (bullpen included) is better than Atlanta, Washington and Florida's 25.....there is no excuse to be playing the way they are to end the season.
