As it stands, we'd have to pitch our starters until their arms fell off. It's really not worth doing that. We won't get far even if we manage to get in.

Omar must be fired for ignoring the bullpen. It falls on him.

And to correct some of the writers and fans; this is not a choke. We're just not good enough.
Mets had won 9 of 12 prior to the "17 games left" portion of the schedule. Since then, they have gone 4-7....

They have holes, no question.....but the biggest hole is in their confidence and mental awareness. They are scared to death. They HOPE they can make it....

Also doesn't help when you lose 3 LF's (Alou, Pagan, Tatis), your #3 starter and your closer.

Easley's absense cannot be overlooked either.

Omar could have done more for the depth of this organization (especially the bullpen)....but the honus ultimately is on the players on the field. I am sorry, but this team has enough talent to do better than 4-7 in the last 11. They have the talent to go better than 1-12 in Atlanta and San Diego.

That is not Omar's fault. Everyone wants to blame everyone else.

The players suck when it counts....end of story.
