How many games were lost in 2008 because it took the Mets far too long to fire Willie, let alone Omar? if the answer is even one game, that seriously might cost them the playoffs this year again.
And did Omar learn a thing about stockpiling depth after the embarassment of giving away games by starting Humber and Lawrence down the stretch last year? Apparently not if Brandon Knight and God knows what else is any part of the rotation, with zero of worth after it when Santana, Pelfrey, and Perez have had their turns. Let alone hardly shoring up the bullpen with an aging and increasingly brittle Wagner and a brutally-ineffective (and knee tendinitis-suffering) Heilman as the top two relievers? Disgrace.
Again, every game counts. Omar once again brutally failed to maximize the chances of the Mets winning, and for that, just like last year, he richly deserves to be canned. | If you don't start a thread with this exact post, entitled "Every Game Counts", I will. |
