I can vouch that Kevin Elster actually hit a HR at Shea, in beating the Pirates 2-1. I can't remember the year (probably somewhere around 1990). On the way back we took the no. 7 line, and then picked up NJ Transit at Penn Station. While waiting for the train, a heavy metal concert (can't remember the band) let out at the Garden. The trip home was a real treat. My wife and I actually stood out to the vestibule of the car because we feared for our lives from these crazy wacked out people. It was the last time I took public transit to Shea.
Oh wait - this thread was favorite memory. Nevermind.
