As good as Osi's stats were last year, and his loss will hurt, he really wasn't as dominant as some here give him credit for when you consider 6 out of 13 sacks were in 1 game alone.
This defense doesn't seemed designed to force the DE's to get pressure. It seems designed to get the blitzers to apply the pressure where ever they come from. It's more about the scheme to apply the pressure then the actual players.
Osi's loss will obviously hurt, I just don't see it as doom for the whole season like the consistent negative posters do since his loss on the pass rush can be compensated, at a minimum, with Kiwanuka on passing downs. |
I wouldn't say it was negative just more realistic. It is hard for teams to repeat even harder when you lose your best two defensive lineman. I am not saying that there is no way they make the playoffs, I would just be surprised. That said, I am not going to ***** or complain about it. It is what it is. This team has earned that.
