First step is for the Mets org (and fans) to stop thinking Alou is going to be a factor. As good a hitter he is, he has also hurt this team more than he has helped. This is Omar's mindset and he has to to lose that before he can do anything else.
The big key here is Church. If he has to shut it down the rest of the season, Omar is going to have to get at least ONE OFer. This team is winning sh!t with Tatis and Chavy as their everyday corner OFers.
Ibanez makes sense for many reasons. JMO, but I think the Mets can get him similar to the deal they made for Castillo (low level prospects).
I am inching closer to the Bonds bandwagon, but the Mets are going to avoid him much like everyone else has. |
