Let's see here. Is he the worst cleanup hitter? We're talking about a guy who hit 33 homers and drove in 112 runs last year and hit 41 homers( equaling a Met record) with 116 RBI the year before, right? We're talking about a guy who will probably drive in 100 and, after a slow start, still could hit 30 homers this year, right? We're talking about a guy who has 8 homers in the last month, right? We're talking about a guy who has driven in 100 runs in every full season that he has played but one, right?
Look, I'm not happy at all with his taking strike three syndrome but don't even compare him Bonilla. Bonilla did absolutely nothing with the Mets. Beltran has been an MVP candidate and a two time gold glover.
BTW, since Bonilla is Puerto Rican, wouldn't he be the Puerto Rican Bobby Bonilla?
