This reminds me of the people who were using "2006 Cardinals!" as a rallying cry when it was noted that the Mets weren't going to do sh*t in the playoffs because of how crappy they were playing down the stretch last season. Of course the Mets made the point moot by collapsing entirely, but that's another story.

It's as if they don't realize situations like the 2006 Cardinals and 2007 Mets/Phillies are so remarkable precisely because they happen so infrequently. Yes, it can happen. And it probably will. Every twenty years or so.
