What's the "it" that needs to be carried out exactly? There is practically no one to trade (unless you want to do a stupid panic trade involving Fernando Martinez).
If you can conceive a deal for Holliday, Bay or Nady that does not involve Wright, Reyes, Santana, Church, Maine, Pelfrey, F-Mart, or Carp (ie:
"Robbing Peter to pay Paul") I would love to hear it. I would not mind moving Beltran in a trade like this if they (or a third team) are willing to take on the money and we can somehow get a quality replacement centerfielder also somehow, but even that more than likely fills a hole while creating another one. Otherwise, I think that we are looking at sucking up 2008 with what we have and looking at the free agent market in November.
