At this point if they make a trade with the Pirates, I would rather see them send major league ready talent (Heilman, Pelfrey, some high AAA players, Perez etc....) for a contract and Steve Pearce and/or one of their talented pitchers. He is blocked in their system right now. The guy can straight up hit. Just move him to LF instead of right. At worst it gives the Mets another trade chip or the opportunity to move FMart if the deal is right. Pearce could come up and platoon with Nixon in the meantime.
Also gives Delgado some incentive to start playing better as Pearce can play 1st and/or give Delgado a day off.
