 If the Mets weren't depressing enough...
...how about seemingly everyone your five year old son runs into telling him he should be a Yankee fan.
He's the only Met fan in his class at school.
All his cousins are Yankee fans, as are his uncles and aunts.
They all ask him who he likes, and he says "the Mets". They all tell him he should like the Yankees. You know the drill.
What makes this year so damn annoying is that at least the past two years I could say something along the lines of "The Mets are the team witht he future", or something like that. But with this team looking so damn lifeless and apathetic, what can I say- other than "It takes a real man to stand alone"? |
