Although the Fordham Rams men’s basketball team (2-23, 0-13) is nearing the conclusion of an extremely unsuccessful season, one of its freshman players has already become an impact player. Chris Gaston, a freshman from the state of New Jersey, has received Atlantic-10 honors as Rookie of the Week four times this season. His [...]

For how smooth and cohesive the Knicks looked in the first half, they were that disoriented and sloppy with their play in the second.
Ersan IIyasova came off the bench to score a season high 25 points and grab nine rebounds while Brandon Jennings scored 19 of his 22 points in the second half to lead [...]

New York – Is it possible that New York area basketball fans just might get to follow hometown teams that can approach respectability this season?
With their cross-river rival New Jersey Nets, winners of one consecutive game coming into the Garden for a 12 noon matinee today, the Knicks were facing a confident bunch. However, the [...]

While New Jersey Nets President Rod Thorn has stated for the record over the past few weeks that the team is looking for a rebounder out of the draft, Yahoo Sports has done a solid job of looking at some of the players the team may have some interest in.
Much like last season, the team [...]

Right before Yi Jianlian got injured in early January this season, he finally looked like he’d turned the corner. He was scoring about 12 points a game and was playing anywhere from 25 to even 38 minutes a game.
Why?
Because he was producing. It was a reward.
After he came back a month later, he wasn’t [...]

NEW YORK – The Knicks didn’t come alive until about five minutes left in the second quarter. Mike D’Antoni’s squad, who was hosting the Atlanta Hawks at the Garden last night, began the game very lackadaisical and sluggish. Fortunately, they were able to hold on for a 109-105 victory, snapping a three-game losing streak.
Larry Hughes, [...]

Even though the cast is a bit different this season for the New Jersey Nets, things are beginning to look awfully familiar.
On the outside of the playoff picture looking in, the Nets understand they are running out of time and have to step up their game. Otherwise the only way they’ll make the playoffs [...]

NEW YORK – The Knicks stumbled into the All-Star break losing six straight. Although three of those games were against NBA juggernauts Cleveland, Boston and the Lakers, it was nevertheless an embarrassing showing after winning eight of their previous eleven. New York ended that skid with an exclamation mark last night as they defeated the [...]

NEW YORK – If you were living under a rock for the past five years and had no idea why Knicks fans want LeBron James suiting up in orange and blue for the 2010-2011 season, he put on a clinic last night to explain why. James finished with 52 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, [...]

Well, I said after the team’s last game that the Nets had to get more production from anyone not named Devin Harris or Vince Carter and that’s exactly what happened tonight.
Almost prophetic, Carter told the media after team got blowout against Washington that the Nets were going to have to take out their frustration on [...]
